The RaCe....

On May 9, I ran in the Susan G Komen 5K Race for the Cure. My niece Janica and my friends son Mitch ran with me as well. This was my 3rd year racing, and I'd been hittin' the gym 5-6 days a week so I'd be totally ready. It is so amazing to see all these people that breast cancer has affected in some way come together to raise money for a cure. Crossing the finish line and seeing my mom is always such an overwhelming feeling. I realize that not only do I race for my mom and my girls, but for myself and every woman in my life.

Moab - Trip #2

We headed back to Moab the first weekend in May. It was so nice to be back in the warm weather! Aly decided to stay home because she didn't want to miss c.o.r.e. testing at school, so Kelsey invited her friend Ashlynd to go with us.

The girls were having so much fun, and were so wound up, they finally crashed for a nap. I was amazed at how peacefully they slept through all of the bouncing around and rock climbing!

We all had so much fun, it was hard to come home!

Happy Easter

We had a nice lunch and a little Easter egg hunt for the kids Sunday at Steve's sister's house. Thank goodness the weather held out.... it was perfect!

Then it was on to Easter dinner at Mom and Dads house. We ate very well all day Sunday!

MoaB April 2009

We made our annual trip down to Moab for the Easter Jeep Safari last week. We were so excited to be in warm weather, in Moab, in our Jeep. It was a little breezy, so we weren't able to go "topless", or, "take the lid off" as Kelsey put it. The scenery was beautiful as always, and we had a great time. (Even though we broke something in the transfer case.)

On the way home, we decided to hike up to Delicate Arch. It was so beautiful. All these years we've been going to Moab, and we've never taken the time to see the arches. I'm so grateful we were finally able to see one of the many things that make this such a beautiful state.

Four Generations of Gals...

I had to post this picture because I love photos of our four generations. This was taken at my nephews baptism a few weeks ago. I love that my Grandma is still so involved with all her grand and great-grandchildren.

YeS! We are all ALiVe and WeLL....

Just thought I would post a quickie to update those that wonder what has happened to us - due to a huge lack of blogging! Everyone is doing great! Steve is staying busy aerating (as long as the weather is nice). Aly is still enjoying piano and dance - revving up for her year-end recital, and doing fantastic. Kelsey just started softball practices a few weeks ago in preparation for the spring season which starts in 2 weeks - and is becoming quite the "fiddler" on her violin. I am LoViNg the gym! Steve and I bought memberships in January - and I try to go 5-6 times a week. We are all super excited for SpRiNg and wish the warm weather would hurry up and get here! Thank goodness our yearly Moab trip is just around the corner! (Hopefully the weather cooperates...) That's the Yates' update for now - gotta run - my cute little nephew is waking up from his nap. I'm sure we'll have some "blog worthy" stuff to post soon!
